Infobip continuously invests in early and emerging talents - programs for students and first-time job-seekers, but also programs for elementary and high school pupils. Building a community around Infobip and impacting people’s lives for the better has long been a priority here. We’re committed to supporting these new generations and encouraging their participation in STEM subjects and careers.
We believe that investment in knowledge pays the best interest which benefits not only the students but the society at large. It is our belief that societies with higher education rates are generally healthier, have higher economic stability, lower crime, and greater equality. This is why driven by our core values and the need to build a better knowledge-based society we have decided to develop educational programs for early and emerging talents in collaboration with universities and NGO’s.
Infobip Ignite aims to develop emerging talents into future leaders to collaborate effectively across our company on joint solutions in order to democratize the future of digital interactions between businesses and people. This is why we regularly partner with top universities across the world and try to positively influence how students learn and support them as they prepare to kick-start their careers.
We have partnered up with around 30 universities in Croatia and are continuously maintaining relationships with them and the student community by attending events, holding visiting lectures, workshops, hosting students at our campuses, and similar. Besides that, we have developed an Infobip course at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb, one of the biggest IT faculties in Croatia, and are working on creating new ones.
We also invested a lot in our internship programs for technical and business students. At the internship, interns go through onboarding where they learn about Infobip, its products, history, and culture after which they usually work together in teams on a real project with a dedicated mentor. We have a developed mentorship academy through which our employees can try out mentoring experience and expand their skillset.
We organized several internship programs in 2022:
Software Engineering Internship (Summer & Winter) - Zagreb, Vodnjan, Rijeka, Osijek, Split, Katowice, Košice, Sarajevo
Services Engineering Internship – Zagreb
Platform Operations Internship - Zagreb
Business Internship (Spring & Fall) - Sarajevo
In addition to that, Infobip has been jointly recognized by nine student organizations who voted and awarded our continuous and dedicated work, effort, passion, and contribution to upscaling of the university and student community.
In 2022, Infobip has won two Golden Index awards in the following categories:
Student Practices and Internships
Professional Support and Organization of Student Projects
Forty-three students spent almost 16.000 hours on Professional Practices in our Engineering, Customer Services, Profitability Management, and Legal departments. We organized more than 30 student events in 2022, including the Let's Grow conference, TVZ Java Cup, and Capture the Flag. Finally, more than 500 students got to be a part of our young professionals' community, and without their involvement and trust in our programs, these awards wouldn't be possible!
Ultimately as this is a mutually beneficial program - for students, young professionals and job seekers on one side, and for us as a company on the other side, we are proud to have succeeded in helping to discover their true potential, and in addition to technical and business skills we helped them improve soft skills such as communication skills, critical thinking and teamwork.
Keep an eye out for future internships here!
Infobip Sparks is a competency based educational program designed to spark curiosity for science and technology in elementary and high school students. The pilot program started in 2019 and consisted of interactive workshops focusing on different STEM areas - robotics, mathematics, computing and programming. Already in 2019, 350 pupils and students participated in the workshops held at the Pangea campus in Vodnjan and made possible by continuous involvement of 15 Bippers, 2 NGOs, 5 faculties. With the onset of the pandemic, we had to suspend live workshops and think outside of the box to find a way to continue working with elementary schools and high schools and to pursue with the mission of introducing STEM education, projects and workshops to schools. Soon after we found the perfect partner in STEMI and started implementing the School of the Future project.
The main idea and goal behind the Schools of the Future project is to connect Croatian schools with the tech industry by implementing new curriculums such as: Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Crowdfunding, Entrepreneurship etc. and to bring the Croatian educational program closer to actual IT industry trends.
In 2022 more than 60 schools, 1.000 students and 150 teachers in Croatia participated in the project. Besides implementing new skills and knowledge in the educational system, Infobip and STEMI partnered to bring additional value and activities to schools such as: Online mentoring for students, GOAT talks, using Infobip products (Answers) in student projects, Infobip virtual tour, Jobs of the Future.
To mark the end of the 2022 Schools of the Future project year, Infobip, STEMI and A1 partnered once again to organize a first ever student conference “Innovation Day” at Alpha Centauri where we welcomed 700+ pupils and teachers and invited local tech companies. Students and teachers presented their projects, had the chance to listen to motivational lectures from industry representatives and try the best tech gadgets from Croatia.
In 2023 the cooperation with STEMI on the Schools of the Future project continues and this year we witnessed more than 200 schools, 400 teachers and over 4.000 students participating. In 2023 we expanded the Schools of the Future program beyond Croatian borders and introduced it and implemented it in Bosnia and Herzegovina too.
The final event, Innovation Day 2023 once again took place at Infobip's Alpha Centauri campus, where joint efforts of STEMI, A1 and Infobip created a memorable day for 700+ students, teachers and industry experts.
The Infobip Sparks program goes even further and consists of regular elementary and high school campus visits in Zagreb and Vodnjan, participation in competitions, hosting guest lectures in schools and enabling practices for high school students in Infobip.
In 2022 we had 7 campus visits, organized 2 guest lectures, took part in the math Olympics competition, organized the Innovation Day student and teacher conference, had 8 high school students conducting their student practices in Vodnjan and 1 student in Zagreb.
